CONFERENCE : The Bionico Project by Nicolas Huchet
Thursday, 5th February 2015 at 6.30 pm
at the Alliance Française Panjim
FREE TO ALL!
After his forearm was amputated in a work accident, Nicolas Huchet made his own robotic hand from a Fab lab (a small-scale workshop offering personal digital fabrication) and conceived the Bionico project, based on open source technology. It is an enhanced myoelectric prosthesis, designed to help amputees regain independence in their daily lives.
Nicolas Huchet will present and explain his project during this conference. His objective is to prove that it is possible for everybody to access such technology at minimal cost thanks to new, collaborative open structures like the Fabrication laboratory.
This project brings together students, engineers, prosthetic technicians and orthopedics, centres of re-education and corporates. Nicolas Huchet has travelled all over the world to demonstrate his prothesis.
